December 2007 Archbold, Ohio To compete in today’s era, engineering must reduce product development time while remaining flexible/responsive to the changing market needs.
With this in mind, we have identified a number of key actions that must be taken by the department; especially with the customer service group now reporting to engineering.
As a first step of the engineering plan and strategy for fiscal 2008, the department has been re-organized/restructured as shown below to create a real team atmosphere and enhance communication.
- Development Engineering
- Sustaining (Continuous Improvement) Engineering
- Technical Support (Customer Service)
- Technical Publications (Manuals/Illustrations)
A quality culture will be instilled in all employees through the establishment of quality training at all levels of the company.
“It is not just a matter of meeting customer needs; you have to delight him.”
Emphasis and efforts will be focused to provide superior level of after-market support including parts support, training, technical publications, direct service, and warranty support.
These are very challenging and exciting times at Bil-Jax:
- Challenging - Ever-increasing demands are placed on the engineers, and more than ever before, the name of the game is “competition.”
- Exciting - We in engineering are part of a Bil-Jax team that is confident of meeting the challenges to become a world-class performance company.
